How to Apply for the JATC Metro Apprenticeship Program
Create an online account with the JATC. Complete all required steps of the online application within a 30-day deadline. Upon completing the online application, instructions will be emailed for scheduling the GAN Aptitude Test. Applications are accepted year-round, see Qualifications and Deadlines.
GAN Aptitude Test Battery
Aptitude tests are held in January, April, July, and October. Applicants will be eligible to take the aptitude test for the application period in which their file is completed.
Applicants will be notified by email with further details and specific test date information, once their application file is complete.
The aptitude test consists of basic math, reading, spatial, and mechanical reasoning skills. The test study guide can be purchased at: ganhumanresources.com/study-guide-1
Eligibility List Ranking
Applicants are given a score from 0-100 based on their test score, personal experience form, and letter of recommendation. The score will place the applicant, by rank, in the JATC’s pool of eligible applicants.
Job placements are made from the top of the rank list as openings occur. Hiring is typically done in the spring and early summer. If selected, applicants must pass a drug test, physical, and essential functions of the trade test.
Applicants will remain on the eligibility list for one year. If an applicant is not selected within one year, they would need to re-apply if still interested in the Apprenticeship Program.
